Understanding the filtering process is important to helping you choose the right filter. Throughout filtering procedure, unclean water from the pool travels in through the filter's inlet pipe, which leads to the water distribution head on the inside of the tank. While gravity draws the water down through the sand, the small sand particles seize any dirt and debris. On the floor of the tank, the filtered water passes through the pick-up unit and out the outlet pipe. Eventually, the collected dirt and debris in the sand hinders the water flow. Pressure gauges at the filter inlet and outlet give the pool owner a theory of the impediment level inside. If the gauges show more pressure on the inlet pipe than the outlet pipe, the owner knows there is a lot of collected debris in the sand.
